There's just nothing like having a sister. Whether you are the "BIG" or the "little" there is a special bond that no one but the two of you understands. It's nice to begin seeing that bond form between Kendall and Savannah. Kendall's favorite new phrase is "baby, baby, baby..." (I will have to get it on video because it is priceless) and Savannah is the first one she wants to see when she gets home from school. Savannah turns her head to follow Kendall wherever she is in the room. Sisterhood is a wonderful gift. My favorite part is having the opportunity to dress the girls alike :o)

A Visit from Auntie Pops and Cousin Syd

Auntie Pops and Cousin Syd came to visit us for an entire week. And we sure appreciated the extra arms and legs since it was time for Grams to go back home. Pops & Syd make a really good team. Together they stayed up all night prepping and painting what will soon be Kendall's new "big girl" room. The room (with lots of photos) will be featured in an upcoming blog which will show the progression of the room as we are waiting for furniture, etc. But I have to say Paula is so very talented not only with painting, but with so many other things. She can assemble, fix and hang anything! And we had no shortage of projects for her. Sydney is a wonderful assistant and a perfect caregiver to her two young cousins. She fed Savannah and changed her diapers with ease. I am very proud of her. I loved hearing Kendall call her "Cindy".

Mimi & Pop-Pop outfitted Kendall in her first tutu...and she loved it. Of course almost immediately she began twirling around.

Big Girl Tub

Kendall has moved from her little blue baby tub to the big white grown up tub. She had to give up the little one to her little sister. It doesn't appear that she has missed it at all. The tub is where Dada taught Kendall the alphabet from A to Z and her numbers up to 10.

A Hairy Situation

For all those parents who have raised little girls (which is just about everyone) you know all about the "doing of the hairs". When girls begin growing their beautiful head of hairs, then starts the daily struggle to make sure they look pretty. KA hates getting her hair done and although she is not tenderheaded, she barely tolerates getting it brushed and hates to get it washed. It has taken me several months and lots of trial and error to get a system down where I can produce a decent hairstyle. The preparation starts the night before when the day's bows and barrettes are removed, but the sections are left in tact. Then milk and a cereal bar are placed upstairs for easy access. In the morning, hair is second only to diaper changing. We play a CD of personalized songs (courtesy of Mimi & Pop Pop) and KA and I sit on the floor in her room while she eats (and maybe reads a book) and I do hair. Sanford comes in later to clean up the crumbs. It takes about 10 minutes and so far...it works. Any tips you can to share about hair washing are appreciated :-o

The Many Faces of Savannah

Never the same girl twice, Savannah has proven to have a multitude of different looks. There's the"I'm up...where is everybody?" face. Her "Why am I still waiting to eat?" face...the "Oh God...it's that loud big sister again...I hope she's not going to sit on me again" face and the "You just don't get any cuter than this...now where is my food?" face. Either way you look at her, you can't help but melt when she looks at you with those big brown eyes.

Savannah at 2 months

It's been two months and Savannah is just plugging away doing what babies do. Lots of eating and lots of sleeping (thankfully) and certainly a lot of growing. Here are her stats and a little picture with Mr. Pandamonium:

Weight: 10 lbs, 3 oz (50th percentile)

Height: 22 inches (50th percentile)

Dear Grams and Granddad!

First we miss you guy a whole lot and wanted to thank you so much for all you have done for us by helping us out over the last few months.

Grams......We know it was a lot to take you out of your own home and stay here with us and we really, really do appreciate it. We know we made it hard at times with all of the crying fits, difficulties trying to get us to take our bath as well as running from you when we were called (from Kendall naturally). You always got up with us late at night when when we starting crying and always knew how to make us feel better. We loved the walks around the neighborhood and taking us to the playground. I (Kendall) really liked riding to school with you in traffic. I know I wasn't the easiest person to get from the car all the way down to my classroom, but you always managed. Thanks for giving me my very first bath (Savannah) and always knowing how to console me when I cried because Daddy didn't know what to do.


Granddad....Although you couldn't be there physically all the time, we both looked forward to our morning phone calls just to hear your voice (sorry for always pushing the buttons and hanging up on you). We loved talking to you on Skype as well. We could always see you in the screen and hear your voice, but you weren't standing right there. This technology thing is something else. Mom and Dad really appreciated all the things you did around the house for us that somehow they never seem to have time for. The dual garage door openers working in the cars is a blast! Daddy would have never been able to figure that out. You always brought your tools because you knew Mommy would put you to work to do all the things Daddy couldn't do. Granddads always know how to fix stuff!!


There are many more things we could mention, but we (Daddy) would be writing all day. We know you all didn't mind doing it because family believes in helping when they can, but it doesn't hurt to say thank you and we appreciate all you do for us. So we (Kendall and Savannah) wanted to get you all a little something just to say thanks and we love you both. A FedEx package should be arriving today or tomorrow so be on the lookout for it (if it hasn't arrived by Monday, then let Mommy and Daddy know). Its just our little way of saying thanks so much for being the best grandparents we could ever ask for. Although we are the last grandchildren, you make us feel just as special as the first.
